Bundle up Texas! The first frost is coming!! It’s time to bring in your cactus, make hot cocoa and plan your Christmas decor!! Also the Christmas music has already started on Star 102.1! I personally wait till after thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas but I always plan ahead. I wanted to share a tablescape idea I’m using this year. See my Pinterest Christmas inspiration board for more awesome ideas!!!
How to Create a Flannel Forest for your Holiday Tables-cape.
Start by Choosing a Table Runner. I have a vintage table runner on hand, but I recommend a plaid to really set the scene.
Have fun with your plaids and feel free to mix and match!!!
Add a Cone Tree Forest! It’s important to group in odd numbers, I have 5 incorporated here.
Fabric Cone Tree DIY:
- Roll card stock or junk mail into a cone and hot glue in place. Cut proportional fabric square and use spray adhesive to secure. Add a trim around the base for added interest.
Add a Woodland Creature Accent! Let your personality show in your selection of a woodland creature accent. What will you choose??? Owl, reindeer, bear, red bird, etc…??? Make sure it’s the appropriate height to replace one cone tree. You want a grouping of three items at different heights on each side.
Add a Wreath for a Center Focal Point. You can add anything to the center of a wreath! Candles, a pile of pine cones or your salt and pepper shakers.
Add Forest Foliage. A little greenery goes a long way! I added four floral picks I purchased at the dollar tree. They already had the Christmas ornaments and berries attached!
Now your Flannel Forest Centerpiece is Complete!
Lets Forage for a Place Setting to Match!!
I went to Pier 1 my favorite place to shop for decor. It definitely inspired me and filled me with holiday cheer! They had everything I needed to create the perfect table setting to match my centerpiece. Take a look at what I created!

Or Add a Cozy Cup in the middle!!!
